READING: The story that we are reading this week is called…Skylark. It is the sequel to the novel Sarah Plain and Tall.
Skylark is a story that takes place on the Prairie in the early 1900’s. We are learning how a family struggles during a terrible drought. Our strategy that
we are focusing on this week is prediction.
ENGLISH: In English this week we are learning how to write prepositions and
prepositional phrases.
SPELLING: We will have our last spelling test of the year tomorrow on silent consonants.
RELIGION: This week we are focusing on some of the sacraments. One of the ones that we are reviewing is the sacrament of Reconciliation.
We appreciate God’s forgiveness through this sacrament. We
also are learning about different vocations that we may want to do when we grow up.
SCIENCE: We are wrapping up our unit on peer pressure this week. We have had great discussions on how we can deal with peer pressure.
ART: We
tie-dyed t- shirts! Please remember
to wear them to school tomorrow!
MATH: This
week we are continuing with adding and subtracting fractions. We have small quiz
on fractions on Monday.
SOCIAL: The students finished up their state reports and the cookies look great! Way to go Fourth Graders!
Wow!
I can’t believe that we are almost at end of the year! I hope you
all have a wonderful weekend and summer!
