Religion: We are doing our last religion chapter before we wrap everything up.  This chapter gives us the chance to look at all of the beauty that God has created around us.  We also looked at how you can ask God to bless you and especially those around you and what that means.

Math: We have been touching on a few topics so that they have heard of them and had some brief experience with before 3^rd grade.  This week it was numbers using 3 digits or the hundreds place.  We did addition and subtraction with these 3 digit numbers.

Reading:  We are working on doing a “how to” presentation. It was fun to see the kids working on something they are good at and are able to make on their own.  I am anxious to have them present to the class tomorrow or Tuesday.

Spelling: Spelling this week was a list of review words.  It was mostly a good chance for them to practice their cursive handwriting without having a guideword to look at.

Science:  This week we broke light and looked at how a rainbow is made when light breaks.  It was fun to use a clear glass baking dish, a mirror and a flashlight (none of which have color) to make a rainbow.  The kids were quite surprised.

Social Studies: We have been discussing government.  It has been about how there is Local, State and National governments that are in charge of running different things.  We have also discussed elections and how they are done.
